Spicy Herby Pineapple

1.5 c cold ginger tea
1 large handful diced frozen pineapple*
1 avocado
1 t turmeric
pinch cayenne pepper
1 small handful parsely or cilantro

I received a fantastic message this morning from my aunt, all about how my smoothie recipes have shown her that smoothies don't have to be bland and undrinkable.  She told me that she has been making her own smoothie recipes, and loving it, but that she needed to figure out a good one with turmeric and a fat to carry it.  So, Yarrow, this one is for you!  Pineapple is great with spiciness, and avocado provides the fat.

*When buying pineapple for smoothies (or for eating!), note that grocery stores charge way more for pre-sliced pineapple than whole ones.  I know pineapples look intimidating, but it's not hard to chop them.  Just use a large knife, and cut off each side up to the core.  Then use a smaller knife to cut the fruit out of the spiny outsides.  It shouldn't take more than five minutes.
